Library Trustees Table Votes Over Quorum Gap
Library Board · Meeting of July 14, 2026
Dudley library trustees table votes for lack of quorum, report visits up 11 percent. The Pearl L. Crawford Memorial Library Board of Trustees could not approve May 12 minutes or hold its annual reorganization Tuesday after two members were absent, tabling both to August 11.
Library Director Nicole reported 52,621 visits over the past year, an 11.42 percent increase, while June circulation rose a combined 4 percent after a rare May decline she called "tough, and it's hard for me to admit that." The board welcomed new trustee Heather Bowes, thanked outgoing secretary Jean Tilly, and heard that roughly $10,000 will return to the town pending unresolved staff union negotiations. An ice-dam-damaged roof repair, covered by insurance, is set to begin August 11.
