Dudley Library Board Elects Kate Horn Chair
Library Board · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Dudley library trustees elect Kate Horn chair, adopt a stricter no-show policy for events. Library Director Nicole reported visits up 11.5 percent and program attendance up 33.5 percent for fiscal 2026, with nearly 10,000 program attendees over the year. Trustees approved a new cancellation policy warning patrons that canceling within 24 hours twice, or missing two registered events, may result in a waitlist, with Nicole explaining, "if you call us an hour in advance, we are not filling that slot." The board also weighed launching a Dolly Parton Imagination Library program for children up to age five, estimated at roughly $7,000 over five years, and tabled a request from the Friends of the Library to use the library's mailing address, citing liability concerns, until October.
Trustees urged residents to research the September 29 override and Dudley-Charlton Regional School District debt exclusion questions.
