Library Trustees Reelect Kate Horn as Chair
Library Board · Meeting of August 11, 2026
Dudley library board reelects its chair, sets up a fall vote on a $7,600 book program. The Pearl L. Crawford Memorial Library Board of Trustees voted Tuesday to reelect Kate Horn as chair, Ben as vice chair, and Pat as secretary for a six-month term.
Library Director Nicole reported summer reading drew 1,070 sign-ups, just shy of a 1,100 goal, and that July programming reached 862 attendees across 62 events. Trustees approved emergency sewer-line repairs after a second backup in months, with a contractor's quote of "a little over $4,000" to mill the pipes back to "new condition." The board tabled a resident's request to fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, estimated at $7,600 over five years, pending more research on Webster's version of the program. Nicole's annual performance review rated her "exceeds expectations," and state aid this year totals about $39,000.
