Dudley Rec Panel to Sell Pizza at Spooktacular
Parks and Recreation · Meeting of September 3, 2026
Dudley Recreation Commission looks to pizza sales to plug a vanished grant budget. With no town-allocated funding and only about $200 to $300 a year from yard-sale map sales, members debated charging $5 for a pizza slice and drink at October's Spooktacular, projecting close to $390 in proceeds, "still a donation," one member said, since food has traditionally been free at commission events. New member Peg Kennedy was introduced and joined approval of the August 6 minutes by unanimous voice vote.
The commission also finalized a new October 15 Poetry Slam with the Dudley Public Library, where volunteer Mike Leo will emcee for free and the library will fund a $25 prize gift card. Members set their next meetings for October 13 and November 16, both at 6 p.m., and floated a lighter winter schedule with no meetings from December through February.
