Dudley Assessors Reorganize, Hire New Clerk
Other Committee · Meeting of July 10, 2026
Dudley assessors reorganize, hire new office staffer amid stalled growth. The three-member board elected Conrad chairman and David clerk, then voted to hire Lisa Berg to replace departing staffer Kathy. Members approved a $3,982 batch of June motor vehicle excise abatements, an $8,967,486 preliminary fiscal 2027 real estate tax commitment, and a $257,495.76 preliminary personal property commitment.
Staff said new growth is running near $75,000 against a roughly $150,000 target for the year. Board members also weighed whether solar PILOT agreements, which carry a fixed 2.5 percent annual increase, outperform standard taxation, and confirmed a sewer moratorium between Progress Avenue and Fairview, tied to an undersized pipe near Marty's, still limits new hookups on parts of West Main Street.
