Dudley Assessors Move Meetings to Second Fridays
Other Committee · Meeting of June 5, 2026
Dudley assessors shift to second-Friday meetings and explain solar PILOT accounting. The Board of Assessors, led by member Joanne Simsek, unanimously adopted a fiscal 2027 schedule moving regular meetings to the second Friday of each month and approved a motor vehicle excise commitment of $96,842.48 already mailed to taxpayers. Assessing staff told the board solar farm payment-in-lieu-of-taxes revenue is split between land assessed as commercial or industrial property and a calculated personal-property value for the panels themselves, "back into a personal property value to make up the difference," with all proceeds flowing to general revenue.
The board also approved smaller batches of excise abatements and supplemental bills before voting 3-0 by roll call, with Simsek, a member identified as Derek, and Conrad Allen all voting aye, to enter executive session on pending tax abatement and exemption applications and not reconvene in open session.
