The Town of Dudley announced Oct. 31 that its annual Halloween Spooktacular was held Oct. 29 and drew costumed children and families for a day of festivities.

The celebration began at the Pearle L. Crawford Memorial Library, where "gaggles of ghosts, goblins, princesses and other costumed characters" gathered for photos. Families then paraded to Town Hall, where they played games, learned about fire safety and shared s'mores.

A costume contest recognized several winners. The most unique costume award went to a pirate in a pirate ship costume. The funniest costume honor went to a pair dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. The scariest costume award went to someone dressed as the Headless Horseman.

The event was hosted by the Dudley Recreation Commission. The town thanked the volunteers who helped organize the celebration, along with the Harriet K. Crawford Endowment Fund for the Pearle L. Crawford Memorial Library, the Dudley Police Department and the Dudley Fire Department for their support.
