Board of Health fines Marty's Liquors $1,000
Board of Health · Meeting of April 21, 2026
Dudley Board of Health fines a liquor store $1,000 for a repeat flavored tobacco violation. Tobacco Control Alliance inspector Jody Briganti told the board she found two banned flavored cigars, Acid Blondie and Acid Kuba, on the shelf at Marty's Liquors during a March 17 visit, the store's second violation after an April 2025 warning over flavored hemp wraps. Owner Kush Patel asked the board to waive the fine, saying staff were unaware the products were banned: "We kindly ask you to consider our clean record and good fair effort." The board voted unanimously to uphold the $1,000 fine, payable within seven days.
Separately, the board reviewed its first rabies clinic, which vaccinated 51 cats and dogs, and an Earth Day cleanup that drew about 15 middle-school volunteers.
